We really enjoyed the live music in the bar and the restaurant. The room had some nice features, but needs to be spruced up a bit, especially the carpet, tile or wood floor would be better. All in all we liked it. A step back in time.

The room felt a little dumpy for the price.

The tranquility in spite of being in the middle of the city.

I was really missing having a fridge to store cold drinks in.

Great old facility with excellent restaurant and bar facilities

The location of the hotel is great.

The service is poor and the way in which some of the rooms are arranged relative to gardens and parking is not optimal. Service is functional but minimalistic and there is a sense that clients are part of a production line which is inconsistant with regard to the apparant ethos of the hotel. I would not stay there again.

      The restaurant

The day we arrived it was raining outside and inside our room. When we informed the front desk, they told us we were lucky because in other rooms the beds were wet. Between 6:00PM and 10:00PM there are singers in the bar.

So quaint and homey! We loved it! And the restaurant in the hotel was delightful!

Nice old inn with good free parking, excellent restaurant and charm

The cottage where ai stayed needs to remove dirty wall to wall carpet, replace gas heater that ran all night long, and provide a stopper for the bathtub; also I never got any hot water. Too expensive a facility for these gross problems.

very quaint, convenient location, relaxing environment, walking distance to shopping and dining.

      The location.

The bathroom. There was no place to set anything and the shower water consistently ran onto the floor. The layout was also very bad.

Excellent restaurant on premises, pleasant staff, great location - you can walk to shops, restaurants, etc, local entertainment in the lounge, fireplace in the room, thermostatically controlled heat that was very comfortable. Great shower, heater in the bathroom, good lighting.

There was a step down between the sitting area and bed area - not good. There wasn't seating for watching TV - you had to sit on the bed. They could use some new pillows - they were lumpy and it would have been nicetot have two each for reading in bed. We stayed two days - one of which was Thanksgiving - the rate jumped from $135 to around $208 on Thanksgiving - a bit much especially when we were there two nights. They no longer serve breakfast but did offer a "To Go" breakfast which was a good idea however, the food choice we made was not good - a burito - very doughy, not heated through for $6. I liked there idea but they need to improve the food.

We loved our accommodations, a suite. Also enjoyed Doc Martin's Restaurant--great food.

It is a beautifully restored historic inn. Location in central Taos was perfect for a walking vacation. We loved the live music in the lobby.

The halls smelled like bathroom sanitizer. In fact we saw a portable sanitizer mounted on the walls in two of the hallways. The rugs in the hall were dirty and probably should be replaced with wood floors throughout. The Doc Martins dinner fare was somewhat below our expectations with fair service.

Clpse to the heart of Taos

Staff was not as friendly as I expected. Waitstaff in the restuarant made the same nistake three mornings in a row. Real poor service
